Greetings from the Dean
A Message to You, Future Healthcare Professionals
In the super-aging society of Japan, where the future is becoming increasingly unpredictable due to digital transformation advances in the practice of medicine and medical AI, pharmacists of the future will be required to work closer with patients on an individual basis and have to be data literate. This means accurately reading the test results of a variety of patients, listening to their lifestyle habits in detail while counseling them, and accurately analyzing their conditions.
Accordingly, from April 2024, the School of Pharmacy at Nihon University has updated its educational content in line with the times and has introduced a new curriculum including data science subjects. As a future pharmacist, I sincerely hope that you come in contact with these
new subjects and embrace them. In addition, Nihon University, which is made up of variousfaculties, will provide you with opportunities to interact with fauclty and students from thesemany schools. Even if you are not good at building relationships because you have lost various
face-to-face opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, let's work together to improve your communication skills and broaden your horizons. On a personal note, I have loved animals since I was a child, and I had a vague idea that I wanted to work with and for them when I grew up.
After much deliberation, this is why I decided to enter a School of Pharmacy. One of my teachers who encouraged me to take the entrance exam for a School of Pharmacy said to me, "If we develop new medicines, we can save not only the animals in front of us, but also animals in general." After hearing these words, they stuck in my heart and have helped me become the person I am now. No one knows what life holds in store for us. If you believe in the "path you have now" and work hard, you will always have a "shining moment". We at the School of Pharmacy of Nihon University believe you will have your "shining moments" and we will do our best to support them.
