From September 9th to the 15th, 2017, Dr. Brown from the School of Pharmacy of the University of Portsmouth (UoP) was an invited lecturer to the School of Pharmacy, Nihon University (NUSP). With the signing of an agreement between the two schools of pharmacy in 2016, exchanges between NUSP and UoP have now entered their second year.

In addition to a study abroad program where NUSP students have visited UoP for the past two summers, we were delighted to have hosted Dr. Brown. During his stay at NUSP, for the students, graduate students, and faculty, he gave lectures based on pharmacy education and research. The exchanges between students and faculty are a testament to the dedication both schools have to their respective international exchange programs.

While Dr. Brown was here at NUSP, we also had the opportunity to talk about the direction of future collaboration between the two schools not only in terms of education, but also in the working together on future research projects. These projects and exchanges will allow NUSP students to learn about pharmacy education and practice in the U.K.where UoP has a history of being a leader in these fields.

While here at NUSP, the extremely friendly and nice Dr. Brown was able to experience and thoroughly enjoy both Japanese culture and our lifestyle. The time he spent visiting us will surely help deepen the friendly relations between our two schools.
