Discovery of new fungi and exploration of physiological functions
Microorganisms have been widely present in the environment since ancient times. They also continue to plague humans as pathogens. On the other hand, fermented foods and microbial products have become indispensable for human life. In our laboratory, fungi are used as research materials. Research on bioactive substances from them and the investigations into various aspects of their ecology are the main research topics.
